I watched this whole thing play out since 2022 when I joined Twitter, and stood by Sam Harris ever since. He never wavered in his liberalism, sanity and compassion, while so many others lost their minds to the algorithm machine. I'm no longer on X either thanks to Sam. I also really appreciate your calm and rational coverage of key news items, and dismantling of the nutcases on Twitter Stephen. You have far more patience for arguing with the woke left/right than I do. Many thanks to both you and Sam.❤️❤️❤️

Hey Masha. That's incredibly kind of you to say and I really appreciate it. Thank you. Yeah, I'm starting to feel like 'X' is no longer a great use of my time.

Hi Stephen, I'm in the U.S. I appreciate you, Sam, Michael Shermer and others who have stuck to your values, rather than going for the allure of audience capture clicks - left or right. Telling audiences only what they want to hear for the sake of views, reads, clicks, etc is dishonest ethically and intellectually. I deleted my Twitter account but look forward to productive engagement here.

Spot on assessment of Elon Musk. And hats off to you Sir for calling out the woke on both the right and the left. You've proved yourself a genuine person. We need to somehow title and organise a community of like-minded liberals as in the true sense of the word (by definition anti any kind of woke). Viva hate ;)

Twitter is excellent if you like watching bun fights, which probably applies to most social media, the more polarised the better.

Substack comments on the other hand are generally far too measured and mature

Musk is a malignant narcissist, he has actual personality disorder. His response to explain nazi salute by attacking the questioning party is exactly the thing such person would do. There’s no point of explaining his behaviours as a normal person, he is not. People with disorder have emptiness that is never filled. He has no interest in family, private island, settling down and no level of power of money will satisfy. He supports fascism because it’s there. If whole world was under fascist rule he would be supporting communism.

Elon Musk - An Analysis of His Behaviour

( Roman/Nazi Salute)

In a meticulous analysis of the recent inauguration event for former President Donald Trump, it has been observed that Elon Musk, the wealthiest individual globally, executed two conspicuous gestures reminiscent of the Hitler salute. These actions were deliberate and unambiguous, embodying a symbol historically associated with the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime, which resulted in the deaths of millions. The pertinent inquiry arises: what motivated such a display?

Upon rigorous examination, it becomes evident that Musk’s actions were not merely performative but emblematic of a deeper ideological alignment. Historical records indicate that Musk’s maternal lineage harboured sympathies towards Nazi ideology, with documented instances of Holocaust denial. His father, Errol Musk, has been characterized by pronounced elitist and eugenicist beliefs, further complicating the familial narrative.

The nomenclature of “Elon” is purportedly derived from Errol’s fascination with rocketry during the apartheid era in South Africa, specifically influenced by Wernher von Braun, a former Nazi scientist. This connection is further substantiated by references to von Braun’s science fiction work, “Marsprojekt,” wherein a leader named “Elon” governs a Martian colony. Such historical intersections suggest a deliberate cultivation of ideological continuity.

Musk’s public persona reveals inclinations towards eugenicist thought, advocating for increased reproduction among certain demographics and expressing views that can be interpreted as supportive of hierarchical social structures. His endeavours, ranging from support for specific political movements in Europe to ambitious projects like Mars colonization, can be viewed through a lens that perceives a pursuit of ideological propagation.

The public execution of gestures associated with Nazi symbolism serves multiple functions. It acts as a litmus test for societal tolerance, gauging the extent to which such actions can be normalized or dismissed. The relative silence or muted response from mainstream media and political entities may indicate a broader desensitization or unwillingness to confront such displays, potentially due to complex socio-political dynamics.

In summation, Musk’s actions and historical affiliations suggest a nuanced and deliberate engagement with ideologies that warrant critical examination. The interplay between personal history, public behaviour, and societal response underscores the importance of vigilance in recognizing and addressing the resurgence of such ideologies in contemporary contexts.

Very good piece, it's useful to u have it laid out so plainly to be able to show people.

I'd been re-evaluating my relationship with Twitter for a while after being a heavy user and building a pretty significant following, about 16k. Once Musk started wading in on the riots in the UK I knew I couldn't stay on the platform any more without tacitly supporting him, and I deleted my account; the guy was clearly agitating, a provocateur who seems to *want* civil war of some sort to break out anywhere that isn't doing everything the way he wants it done.

I sincerely think he's a dangerous man, with heavy authoritian leanings, bordering somewhere around fascistic.
