I recently interviewed renowned feminist campaigner and author Julie Bindel for The Knight Tube. You can find video and audio versions of that conversation below.
We discussed Julie’s new book titled ‘Feminism for Women’ and a host of other issues. Thanks to the prominence of third wave feminism, I became slightly disillusioned over the years with what passes for feminism.
Mainstream feminism seemed to consist of posers with a victim-mentality trotting out platitudes and grievances about imagined slights. All the while ignoring the creep of gender ideology and the misery caused by Islamic patriarchy not only at home, but globally.
That is why it is so refreshing to speak to a feminist of the old guard. Someone that unapologetically champions a feminism by women, exclusively for women. A feminism with no sacred cows or blind spots. I’m sure I don’t agree with everything Julie says on the issue, but I imagine that’s precisely how she would want it.
